The Mobile Media Toolkit would like to point out to journalists working everywhere of a few funding opportunities and competitions that are coming up.
- The United Nations Correspondent Association invites journalists who cover the United Nations, its agencies and field operations, to submit works for $40,000 prize. Deadline August 31st.
- The Population Institute invites journalists to submit work that highlight populations issues. Deadline Sept 4.
- Knight Foundation is seeking to help place-based foundations (in the US) fund local news and information projects to help residents be informed and engaged around the issues that matter most. Deadline Sept 23.
- The International Association of Women in Radio and Television invites female documentary makers to submit works about women who are making a difference in their own lives or on the lives of other women. Deadline October 16.
- The Aftermath Project, a grantee of the Documentary Photography Project, seeks submissions for a grant competition open to photographers worldwide covering the aftermath of conflict. Deadline November 2.
