It must be true if .....

If USA Today run a report on the use of SMS for political campaigns then it must be happening!

The article gives examples from Korea, Philippines, South Korea, China, Lebanon, Kuwait where demonstartions have been organised using word of mouth by SMS.

The article says that "Since the [Chinese] government has yet to find a way to efficiently filter cell phones, its only defense was to send its own text-message, urging people to follow the law and maintain order."

These news reports may serve as a wake up call to governments to install monitoring and tracking of text messages. How long before users who send disruptive SMS are tracked to where they are using Location tracking?
